17th edition of Cartoons of the Bay: Pitch me - Pierluigi De Mas
The 17th edition of Cartoons of the Bay International Festival of tv-animation and crossmedia just ended with the awarding of Pulcinella Award 2014. The festival, organized by Rai, took place in Venice, Palazzo Labia from April 10th to 12th.

The competition “Pitch Me” Pierluigi De Mas 2014 is a section of the main competition dedicated to the development of the best ideas. The jury of “Pitch me”, composed by two internationally renowned artists Guillermo Mordillo and Bruno Bozzetto, just awarded three winning projects.

The first prize went to “Elementi Esperimenti” , by Sinne Mutsaers and Marco Bonini, for "the idea that most stimulates the desire of the jury to make this happen, because of its usefulness and its clear and simple teaching function, which provides for the possibility for his audience to interact creatively with the product, and for the curious mix between fiction and animation".

The second place was awarded to “Blanco” , by Marco Farace and Benedetto Sicca, with the following motivation: "for poetry expressed by the colours and the large depth related to the characterization of the characters ".

"Power Nando - An Italian superhero in Moscow" by Lorenzo Garbuglia placed third, "because, considered the advanced stage of the project, it is more a recognition than an encouragement: for the efficacy of humor and irony, the excellent level of the script and the acting, and the peculiar matching subject-advertising”.

The logic of “Pitch me” rewards especially those projects that are still in pre-production, looking at their intention, utility and immediacy, in order to encourage the development of the best ideas.
The three winning projects will receive a prize of a license Toon Boom Storyboard Pro and Toon Boom Harmony. The winner in the first place will have the opportunity to make a teaser animated video in collaboration with Direct2Brain.
