Genoa Cortoons Festival
Cortoons Festival comes to Genoa!
Cortoons Festival has been an important showcase for young, creative and independent video-makers for 9 years. It operates in a totally independent and self-funded framework and it usually takes place in Rome. This year there's something new: the first edition of Genova Cortoons Festival will be held at TKC - Teatro della Gioventù from 23th May to 1th June 2014 in Genova, from 4 pm to 12 pm every day. Ten days packed with a wide variety of events created for an across-the-board audience. The Festval was born as a spin-off of Cortoons Festival in Rome, created and directed by Alessandro D'Urso, today at his 11th edition. It promotes audiovisuals quality animation from Italy, Europe and the rest of the world. Genova Cortoons is supposed to be a meeting place for artists and professionals where exchanging experiences with each other. A place where it would be possible to compare different genres, styles and techniques; to promote retrospectives, workshops, live performances and screenings for the best animation from all over the world. Genova Cortoons Festival is an international showcase for artists and film-makers, for animation schools, producers, broadcasters and animation enthusiasts. We highlight the special screenings as a tribute to the japanese animation master Hayao Miyazaki: on May 23th “Howl's Moving Castle”, on May 25th “Castle in the Sky”, on May 29th “Porco Rosso”.
