4th December 2014 The biggest Animation fest in USA
Northwest Animation Festival
Beyond Hollywood and Cartoon Network, there is an amazing world of animation you’ve never seen.

Independent animators all over the world produce each year hundreds of short films that are in turn hilarious, heart-warming, and profound. Sadly, without million-dollar advertising budgets, people probably won’t ever hear about these gems. The Northwest Animation Festival aims to change this.

Northwest Animation Festival is the biggest showcase of animated shorts movies in the USA. Established in 2011, the Festival collects excellent short animated films from around the world for screening at an annual multi-day gathering in Portland, Oregon. The main goal of the festival is to create a large community of artists as well as an internationally recognized hub of animation culture.

It will be a mix of new work both from masters of the art and remarkable amateurs. The Festival aims to be an event that inspires and brings together a community of artists, feeding animation lovers’ craving with a sprawling feast of new work.

All kind of animation methods are here accepted: hand-drawn, computer-generated, stop-motion, hybrid experiments, and more.

This year the screening of over 200 film is scheduled. The 2015 festival will touch two cities and will last one full week. The event will take place on May 4-10 at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland, Oregon. Most screenings will repeat later in May at the Bijou Art Cinemas in Eugene, Oregon. Audience favorite ones will be screened at a “Best of the Fest” show in September.
